I must say that Consumer's Choice was a pleasure to deal with when we decided to replace all of the windows in our home in 2004. The people we dealt with were extremely professional from beginning to end from sales, to installers to service. Quite impressive! Actually one of the seals broke about two years ago and Consumer's Choice came out to immediately replace that window. That's what I call customer service! Excellent company, considered a leader in their field. I give them 2 thumbs up!

This company is super organized. When I called, a salesperson came over almost immediately, and had all of the information for me to make a decision. Once I signed the contract, I received a follow-up call, thanking me for the business. The windows were installed quickly and well, with professional behaviour and attitude. Window Replacement We picked Consumer's Choice after listening to 3 other quotes. They were not the least expensive but competitively priced. Had 12 windows replaced right down to the brick - not retrofitted. Windows took 5-6 weeks from time ordered. Installation took 2 days. Crew was on time, efficient and cleaned up nicely which was important to us. Quality of the installation was excellent. They were careful to remove old windows and caulking and made sure to insulate and re-caulk new windows. Installers discovered one bathroom window was not measured correctly and did not fit, but they gave this window priority and a proper replacement ready 8-10 days later. They even changed my patio door capping to Sandstone/ sandalwood colour to match other windows. I made sure this extra work was written into the contract. Replace 2 windows in second storey of house
I selected Consumers Choice based on good reviews I read on the internet. I was not disappointed - everyone involved from sales to installation was very professional. The salesman was personable and listened to my needs. The installers were quick and cleaned up after, taking away all the junk from the old windows. The new windows were installed with wood frames, better than the MDF that my original windows were installed with. The windows look great and work perfectly. They were as ordered, and the trip and intallation looks great. Everyone was careful to remove their shoes, or put on protective coverings when entering my home. The only slight concern was that one of the installers smoked on my property, but only outside, and didn't leave any butts or anything. This was no problem for me, but might concern others.

New Basement Windows
We recently used Consumer's Choice to replace our basement windows. When we purchased our home, the windows were still the originals from 1954!!! The sales person we dealt with gave us a fair quote and answered all of our questions in detail. The installer was great; he worked quicly and efficiently and was super friendly. All of the mess was cleaned and he took the time to show us how the new windows worked. The finished windows look fantastic! We decided to use Consumer's Choice because we had used them previously for our soffits and eavestrough and were thrilled with the service. We would definitely use them in the future and would recommend them to others.

In both cases the cost of the windows were very reasonable, as well as the staff knowledgable and professional. We've never had a problem with the windows we had installed 5 years ago. Energy Efficient Windows
I just got my windows changed from Consumers Choice, From the time of estimate till the work done I am completly satisfied from the quality service they provided to me. Replaced all windows and doors
My am over the moon with my new windows and doors. They are absolutely beautiful and the crew at Consumers Choice did an excellent job. The crew were very courteous and professional. The work took place over 4 days and each night my home was left nice and tidy. My home is older and the old windows were in bad shape and improperly installed. There were a couple of raised eyebrows when they saw what they had to work with but they were completely professional and never made a complaint. (It has happened that another contractor complained about how hard the job was and seemed less than enthused to be fixing my house.). Instead they were very informative and explained their process and why we were losing so much air with the old windows. The quality of the work as very good as well. You can see that they are very seasoned and knowledgeable. The only snag was with scheduling. The last job they did ran a day longer and I was only notified that we would have to change our start date on the morning they were supposed to come in. They were very apologetic and completely flexible with finding a new date though.

Front door and side garage door installation
Received great information and discount at the Home Show. Had a great sales guy come in and show me everything I need to replace both doors. I was happy with the price considering it included a steel front door with 3/4 length glass, along with a storm door where the screen slides down from the top and a side door for the garage in matching colour, all with beautiful hardware installed beautifully. The two workmen were very pleasant and definately knew what they were doing. I would definately not only recommend CCHI to anyone, but I will definately be using them again in the future!

We did 1/2 our windows this year and plan to do the balance next year. There was a minor manufacturing defect in one of the installed windows. We had some initial difficulties in resolving the issue through Consumers Choice customer service; however, upon escalation of the matter Consumers Choice showed itself to be committed to maintaining the relationship and assisting us - they called the manufacturer for us and arranged a service call -- problem is now solved. Consumers Choice did an excellent job of installing the windows. The workmanship is extremely good and the installers were a pleasure to deal with. We plan to use Consumers Choice to install the balance of our windows.

Sliding Door Purchase/Installation
This story has a happy ending...it just took awhile to get there. Chapter 1: The sales agent was professional. He measured up the door to be replaced and said it was standard size. The company would follow up and send a 'measurement specialist' to ensure the dimensions are correct Chapter 2: The measurement specialist came, wrote down a few things and was gone in 2 minutes. No apparent issues... Chapter 3: Door is delivered, but is the wrong size!! Apparently the 'measurement specialist' changed the size of the door from the initial order, however, the dimensions in the initial order were the correct dimensions. Chapter 4: Correct door is delivered and installed, however, the screen door was damaged and needed to be rescreened Chapter 5: Screen door fixed and installed. We are very satisfied with the product. Overall, the company was quite courteous and helpful throughout this rollercoaster ride. My sense is that this company is generally on top of things, and we happened to be the 'exception' that is bound to happen from time to time

Make and install front entry door and sidelite
My wife spoke with a Consumers Choice Rep at Dixie Mall and arranged a meeting with us at our home. I generally don't deal with home improvement people in kiosks in malls, however I was pleasantly surprised to discover the level of professionalism and product knowledge. I was shown the choices for doors inserts and sidelites, was pleased with the quality and the fact they were made locally. We purchased our door that evening and true to their word it was installed within six weeks, right before the snow started. The intallation was quick and the quality of work good. Any issues were so minor I did not follow up with Consumer's. The cost was more reasonable than either RONA or Home Depot and their sale price was actually higher. I would recommend Consumer's to my friends and would use them again.

Bay Window, Front Door
We were approached by this company via a recorded phone message (you know, the ones you hang up on...). I waited the call out for a change and am so glad I did. Mike, the sales guy booked a visit within a few days and was very knowledgeable and not afraid to make suggestions. In retrospect though, his confidence may have kept us from asking more questions and getting a more detailed break down of the pricing scheme. But truly we trusted him and felt we were in good, honest hands because he came across as being very professional and capable. Mike provided a folder full of references and I contacted one. The feedback was great for quality, follow-up and competitive pricing. In our experience that shining reference truly captured how good this company is at what they do. The only 'negative' (negative being relative) comment that I have is that the workers could be a little more thorough with asking customers what they want done with the bricks, old doors, old windows. We did keep the window that was removed but the door and bricks were disposed of before checking with us. We could've have recycled those items for another project or sold them on Kijiji for a couple hundred bucks - especially the door. A shed maybe? The workmanship was A+++ and the labourers were respectful and minimally intrusive. They upgraded the roofing for the bay window free of charge because they thought it would look better with an aluminum roof as opposed to shingles. I was so impressed with that. The front door is a beauty but the sweep is a little wrinkled looking. When they called to follow-up with us, I mentioned it and the customer service person said they'd be in touch to arrange for it to be replaced/repaired. Still waiting, but I'm not worried as the service and follow-up to date have been reliable. Lastly, after you book your job, they give you free airline tickets! I thought "yeah sure, I'll believe it when I see it". It's true. the package arrived a few weeks ago. The tickets are valid for two flights to various destinations including Hawaii, a selection of US cities, Mexico, Canadian and European spots, and even Finland! There is a catch however; you have to stay at select hotels as outlined in the brochure and they're all over $200/night. Regardless, we thought it was a great bonus and that it would make for a special treat if you can afford it after your renos! We've been truly impressed. My husband is not keen on contractors but has given in to it since he has realized that he can't do it all himself. He was happy with CCHI and wants to have them back to install another window for us at some point. Oh - and if you do a review like this one they give you a $15 Tim's card. They're savvy and know how to run things right. I respect that big time.

I can't say enough good things about Consumers Choice. I originally requested quotes from 4 different companies. Consumers Choice was the only company to follow-up, and offer to match or beat any competitors quotes. They also have a store location, where you could go to see their products on display. Multiple financing options are also available, and their guarantee can't be beat by other competitors. The installers were friendly, professional, prompt, courteous, and hard working. Two workman arrived on time, and worked diligently throughout the day. They were respectful of my property, and patiently answered my questions. Any mess or disruption to the household was kept to a bare minimum, and the job was completed well within the projected timeframe. In 2.5 days, 18 new windows were properly installed and all old materials carted away to the dump. The installers were also kind enough to help with the re-installation of window coverings, which wasn't their accountability, but was certainly appreciated by this customer! I'd hire this company again to do any home renovations in the future.

New Vinyl Siding and Windows installation
The installers themselves were very good, very polite and they did a top notch job. The process of getting them to the house to do the job was not so smooth. I think Consumer's Choice has a bit of a problem with the hands not talking to the mouth, so to speak - they strike me as being more than a little disorganized. There were several scheduling mishaps, several miscommunications about the scope of work (some pieces of fascia were not in the quote but obviously needed replacing). The guy who came to measure the windows was flat out rude and left window dressing laying on the floor for me to pick up. And they started the job about a month and a half later than expected. That said, they did a great installation and stuck to their quote. I would recommend them with some caveats: if you're going to work with them, you need to be more diligent to make sure it's clear to everyone WHEN you want the job done and you need to make sure everything you need them to do is on the quote. They cleaned up the mess well and took good care not to wreck our brand new roof. The new windows and siding are of excellent quality and have transformed our house.

Replacement patio door
We just had a replacement patio door installed by Consumers Choice (fibreglass, triple glazed). What we liked about Consumers Choice products was that it's possible to have different colour finishes on the inside and the outside. The installation went very smoothly and we're happy with both the price we paid and the product itself. Only negative was the casual salesman who needed a lot of chasing to supply us with the info and pricing we needed. I also felt a handwritten sales contract which was barely legible was inappropriate for a $3,000 purchase.

Patio doors plus transom
I had a patio door with a large upper transom installed in place of a malfunctioning window. The installation is about 11 feet by 5 feetand accesses a back deck. All personel were pleasant and efficient in their work from Blair the estimator/salesperson to Brendan with the final measurements. Both gave sound and accurate advice. The install crew was the best work crew I have seen for some time - polite , timely, tidy and precise. I recommend Vladimir and his assistants to everyone! All my future window and door requirements will be with Consumer's Choice and hopefully the same personel will be available.

I inheritted my childhood home this year when my Mother passed away. At 26 years old, that meant I was taking on a huge responsibility. She knew the windows and doors needed to be replaced, but for years she couldn't afford it. I happened to notice a booth set up at the Upper Canada Mall in Newmarket for a windows and doors company, and decided that getting a free quote wouldn't hurt. I actually didn't even quote another company because I was so happy with the service I got from the beginning. The lady who took down my information at the mall was very sweet. We talked openly about my Mom's illness, and she offered a great deal of empathy. Then, the gentleman (Danny) who came to the house to do the quoting made me feel like I'd known him forever. I really felt like I had invited a friend of the family in for a visit. He was honest, open, and understanding. He gave me all of my options, and even complimented the door I had chosen for our front door. He felt that I had picked from the examples that are more affordable, but that it is more beautiful than many in the more expensive options. That made me feel proud of my choice. He has had the company do all of his work, and he swears by it. He also worked for an installer for nearly 30 years, so he knows the trade inside and out. He also had a whole binder with warantees from other companies, to show me the fine print. Incredible what you see when someone draws your attention to it! Consumer's Choice had a warantee that was clear, easy to understand, and had no fine print - refreshing. It took awhile for my order to be ready (the custom iron in the front window took up more time) and the lady who called me a couple of times to keep me updated on progress was very sweet. Then, Terry, who was the lead installer for the job, was incredible too. Not only did they respect my home, and work diligently, but they were very personable and approachable, too. They clearly had a great deal of experience (I get nothing but compliments about how great a job they did), and an extra load of people skills. I had total trust and faith in their abilities, and the people that they are. Overall, even if I spent a bit more to have Consumer's Choice come to do the job, it was worth it. After they left I cried I was so overwhelmed by the job (from start to finish) they had done. My Mom would be proud, and pleased. Thank you!

Windows throughout
I've been bitten before by bad contractors & was really scared when It came time for me to find one for our windows. Homestars is my #1 place to find a good contractor and Consumer's Choice did not let me down AT ALL. Very quick and curtious efficient and made the whole process less painful. They took care of everything from beginning to end to helping us finance the cost. I would highly recommend them. In fact I've got them coming by next week to give me a quote on a new Garage Door. New door installation
My mother had a new front door installed by Consumers Choice, so when it came time to replace an ancient patio door to a single french door I knew that I'd be using Comsumers Choice. Excellent sales rep and a top notch installation crew. Turn around time from order to installation was bang on. A 100 yr old home where nothing is straight and square, Theo and crew installed the door with very little trouble. It looks and great!

Windows and exterior doors
This is the second time we have chosen Consumers Choice. We had 3 windows and 2 doors replaced last year. This year we did 2 more doors, 4 windows and 2 garage doors. Overall we have spent close to $20,000. The salesperson was helpful and we got our quote done at the initial visit. They also sent someone to measure in a timely fashion. The installers were friendly and efficient and removed all debris from our home. My only complaint with the installers would be that they did not clean the windows and remove the stickers. The garage doors that were installed had one damaged panel but the installer ordered a new one and replaced it without argument, even though I didn't notice the damage until a couple of days later. We had our initial consultation in May and the job was completed by the middle of August. Everyone showed up on time on the dates specified and we were called to remind us of what was being done on each date and what amount of money was due at that time.

Gables and dormers
The initial person who came out to quote was rude and disrespectful and requested an immediate sign-off by my wife on a quote of a few thousand dollars without allowing any concurrence from me. When she mentioned that she would have to run it by me he immediately crossed off the "sale" price and left. Ridiculous. Fortunately a follow-up call the next summer put us in contact with Larry who was courteous and accommodating (one would think these are minimum requirements by anyone in sales but apparently not nowadays). The installer was very good and completed the job efficiently despite a lag of a few days being scheduled at another location. All in all I was pleased with the job save for the initial hiccup.

Windows
We are very pleased with Consumers Choice products. Great detail and time was given to installing the new windows. One window did not fit due to measurement error. It took 4 weeks for the new window to be installed and on 2 occasions installation was postponed with little notice. Our concerns were heard and addressed to our satisfaction.

Exterior Door & Storm Doors
We were very happy and satisfied the companies products, service and installation. We visited the showroom and found it to be very well laid out and they had a good sample of all the products available. The showroom staff were helpful as well as the sales rep who came to our home. We were also very happy with the installation. The installers were very knowledgeable and professional. The area was cleaned up before they left and they also disposed of the old doors. Our overall experience was very good.

New windows
I replaced 13 windows in my home, 9 of these are in my kitchen which I renovated this past summer. I purchased 8, cottage style or Oriel windows, that look on to the back yard of my home. This style of window, has the division middle horizontal bar one third of the way down the window. Looking out now is much more pleasant as the view is not divided in half as the old windows were. I am very happy with them. I would recommend these windows for any home that does not want their view divided in half.

We initially contracted to have our 1st and 2nd floor windows and frenchdoor replaced. Product was excellent and installation best ever. Installers were exceptional. As a result we contracted for basement window, side door, soffit and fascia and eves to be replaced. Again both product and installation was excellent.

Storm Door
We recently had a new storm door installed. We were very happy with the Company as a whole starting with the salesman and following through to customer relations and the installer. Our appointment was set up within the promised time frame and we were advised clearly what to expect next. The installer explained the installation before beginning the job and was very knowledgeable. He also tidied up after finishing. We also previously had vinyl siding erected and were equally happy with all aspects of that job.

Replacement Front Door
We replaced our front door with with an aluminum doorlite frame with a leaded glass insert, retractable screen, and Heritage Antique brass hardware. Peter Coleman (Sales Rep)was very helpful while we made the decisions for the door. The installers did a excellent job with the installation and cleanup. We are very happy with the door and the service. We have had many compliments about the new door.

Whole House Window Renovation

We have used Consumer's Choice twice now and would never consider another company for our new windows and doors. We did have another company install our side door and have not been that happy with it. The windows and front door from Consumer's are of very good quality. From the salesman, office staff, Wayne and his crew, we had good service. Looking forward to getting the rest of the windows done as soon as possible.

I had a great experience from first speaking with a representative at the Oshawa Mall and the representative that came to my home to the installer. The workmanship was excellent. Had some old drafty developers windows replaced with low egon gas windows and a new steet front door and side window. The work was excellent. The frames were insulated entirely and capped. The appearance is excellent. The workers were knowledgeable and highly efficient. The messs was cleaned up by the workers and you could not tell that work had been done except for the clean new appearance.

Last October my husband and I hired Consumers Choice to replace several windows in the home we had recently purchased. We were so pleased with our salesman (Mike Musso) and the installers (Dale and his partner) that we hired them again in April 2010 to replace a patio door and our basement windows. In June of this year we actually hired the company a third time to replace our second patio door. We found all the staff at Consumers Choice, including the office staff, very pleasant to deal with and never felt any pressure to buy on the spot. All our questions were answered with complete honesty and our windows and doors were delivered and installed on schedule.

Full home window replacement
Used this site to determine who would be a good candidate to provide me with my new windows. The salesman was very knowledgeable and even though initially only offered me a 'promotion' (tax included) if I signed at home, he was very understanding that I wanted to see the windows first. He took me through the showroom a few days later, showed me the windows and honoured his initial quote with the incentive. Installers were efficient, knowledgeable and honest about installation. No sign of old windows or the installation taking place remained on my property once they were done - clean as a whistle. The windows are really great. Easy to operate and look phenomenal.

Replacement Window For The Living Room
Everyone representing this company from Mike Lanno the salesman to Dennis and Frank the installers were very professional and delivered what they promised. Let's face it; some window replacement companies run their businesses with as much integrity as a seedy used car sales lot. Not this company. They simply helped us choose a window that met our needs, installed it and that was that. We received what we were promised. Professional from front to back! I was a bit leary of the installation process before the window was installed. I'd heard stories about some window installation crews that made huge messes of their customer's properties. But not Dennis or Frank! They were very respectful of us and our property. They even swept up the saw dust the installation process had left on our driveway! I can't remember the last time an installation crew from any home improvement company was that thorough! And Mike Lanno the salesman was very knowledgeable when it came to the specific features of all the windows the company offered and which window would be suitable for our living room. Our sales person Alan Coghill was great. He sold us what we needed/wanted and didn't make us feel like we were being pressured into buying. The timeline was exactly as Alan had indicated and the installation was painless. The two installers were thorough and quick. The windows were installed and everything inside and out was cleaned up. The original windows were very old so we were concerned about the casings but they did a perfect job. We love our new windows!!!!

In 2009, I made a good decision when I went with Consumers Choice to replace my windows. They dealt with me professionally and courteously. I was very pleased with the team doing the work (I call them 'Gerry and the gang'). They worked really hard in the cold month of December and were among the most polite people I have met! When my son had an accident in school and was being taken to the hospital, I had no second thoughts about leaving my house in their charge as I rushed away.
